4th February at Midday About Us: The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK and encourages people to register to vote. The Role:

The successful applicant will work closely with the Elections Guidance Manager and the Electoral Reform Guidance Manager to lead the Electoral Administration Guidance team in delivering guidance and support to electoral administrators, candidates, and agents in line with the Commission's guidance production and management strategy. You will also be responsible for the provision of high quality, consistent and timely advice in response to queries from external sources and to support staff in the Commission's offices in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and across England. Key Responsibilities:

Development of appropriate UK-wide, GB-wide, nation and region specific guidance and supporting materials Co-ordination of training and briefing programmes for Electoral Registration Officers and their staff Management of the administration of the Commission's electoral registration guidance web pages for electoral administrators Manage an internal advice service on electoral registration, supporting administrators and ensuring Commission materials reflect accurate electoral law and practice Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, represent the Commission in meetings, and contribute to responses on electoral registration issues, legislation, and initiatives You:

Good first degree or equivalent work experience AEA Certificate and/or Diploma, or a willingness to undertake them Extensive experience of staff and team management, and good understanding of the importance of the team leadership role in delivering effective outcomes Significant experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders Experience of delivering guidance, training or advice services Excellent in-depth knowledge of UK electoral law and practice Good IT skills and must be able to use MS Word and Excel Strong project planning and time management skills, experienced at managing multiple time pressures and delivering high quality outcomes Ability to manage a broad range of cross-cutting functions, understanding the technical detail while focusing on the strategic issues Strong oral and interpersonal skills, able to represent the Commission at external meetings and make presentations Working at the Electoral Commission
