The role As an Electrical Calibration Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will include responsibility for the calibration, diagnosis and repair of Safety and Test and Measuring Equipment (T&ME), nucleonic Radiation Detection & Monitoring Equipment (RDME).
Day-to-day, you’ll use approved quality systems to ensure the requirements of the Trident Strategic Weapon System (SWS), nuclear operations and other non-strategic customers are met.
Comply with health and safety legislation, policies and standards
Validation of procedures and analysing the effects of new and amended procedures
Write paper document and software calibration procedures for new equipment and generate calibration checklists for new / different models to meet SWPT and departmental requirement
Take lead role of a team of calibration officers and participate in measurement audits as part of the US / UK Inter Laboratory Comparison Programme (ILCP) to ensure the Facilities future parameter re-certification.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week Monday – Friday with a half day on the Friday and is based on site at HMNB Clyde, near Helensburgh.
Essential experience of the Electrical Calibration Engineer
Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation and calibration procedures
Use and commissioning of electrical equipment
Able to work as part of a fast paced larger team
Qualifications for the Electrical Calibration Engineer
HNC / Completed Apprenticeship in an Electrical Discipline
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
