Position : Electrical Controls Engineer Location : Nottingham Salary : Circa £80k DOE + Company Vehicle Job Description : Our partner, a prestigious Electrical Engineering Contractor, seeks a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities : Ensure compliance with prepared RAMS, intervening when needed. Coordinate with operations for labour, materials, and H&S supervision. Programme PLCs from scratch or modify code for new requirements. Commission plant systems, conduct I/O checks, and perform Site Acceptance Tests. Write simulation code to test software reliability before deployment. Set up Inter-PLC communications, VSDs, and Siemens Simocode devices. Design electrical control panels and MCCs, including SIL safety circuits, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD. Attend sales and engineering meetings and assist colleagues when needed. Required Qualifications & Experience : HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. C&G 2382-18 (BSth Edition). Familiarity with cable calculation and electrical CAD software (e.g., Trimble, AutoCAD, Eplan). JIB-approved or technical-grade electrician experience. Proficiency with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/Studio 5000, Mitsubishi GXWorks, Omron CX, and Crimson 3 for Red Lion HMIs. Electrical Engineering qualification, 2391 Electrical Inspection, and a strong Maths/English foundation. Familiarity with legislation (Electricity at Work, PUWER) and British Standards. Panel-building experience is a must Package : Circa £80k DOE. Company vehicle, laptop, and phone. 24 days of holiday + 8 statutory days. 4% pension contribution. PPE provided.
