Description

The electrical team at the Cement Hope works, is a key function within the maintenance team, ensuring that the electrical network is safely maintained and developed, in order to support the operation of the site. Key Responsibilities

Safety Actively take responsibility of your safety and the safety of others

Use & Maintain risk assessments/method statements.

Complete dynamic STOP point of work assessments

Raise safety observations and act to resolve when possible.

Participate and engage in toolbox talks

Duties As a key member of the day electrical maintenance team, the key functions within the role are as follows: Multi skilled electrical Engineering maintenance.

A key role in preserving and maintaining the electrical integrity of the site wide network, to ensure the highest standards of electrical safety.

Conduct planned maintenance inspections and corrective works of the plants fixed and rotating assets, in a heavy industrial environment, to include all HV & LV assets.

Electrical inspection & testing and maintenance to BS7671, fault finding, repairing defects, and ensuring high standards of safety, relating to the works electrical installations.

Experience in Control & instrumentation systems, including CEMS gas analysis systems, PLC’s, and Variable speed drive, preferred but not essential.

Predictive & preventative maintenance of large motors and drive systems, including wound rotor induction motors and asynchronous induction motors, and all associated starting equipment.

Working knowledge & experience of medium voltage networks, including switching methods and maintenance operations.

A sound understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.

Ability to work in accordance with schedules and procedures, coupled with accurate record keeping.

Role Specific

Time served/apprentice training, advanced modern apprenticeship level 3, in Electrical Engineering.

City & Guilds 236 Pt 1 & 2 or 2230 Level 3 NVQ 2356 / 2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2.

18th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certificate

Preferred ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

HV Operational Safety Training Course C&G 9848-51 or equivalent

(desirable)

C&G 2391-52 Combined initial verification, periodic inspection, testing & reporting

(desirable)

(2) EXPERIENCE Proven relevant experience

Electrical, C&I experience in a heavy industrial environment.

The ability to be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, in a heavy industrial environment.

A good working knowledge of the cement manufacturing process would be an advantage.

A sound understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.

(3) SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE Low/Medium voltage electrical isolation

Experience in working with variable speed drives and PLC’s (Mitsubishi)

A working knowledge of process gas analysis systems & techniques

Basic knowledge of IT systems, including SAP, MS Word, Outlook, Excel etc.

Verbal and written communication skills
