We’re looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our client to deliver innovative solutions across power generation, LV electrical systems, and control panel design. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend technical meetings, and ensure compliance with legislation and safety standards. Proficiency in design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, Amtech) and strong technical expertise are essential. Responsibilities of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer: Deliver designs from feasibility to completion and handover as part of a collaborative design team. Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, and project teams, attending technical and project meetings. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legislative requirements for electrical systems. Design LV electrical systems, control panels, earthing, and protection solutions using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux/Relux). Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, and technical drawings (e.g., SLDs, P&IDs, cable schedules). Conduct technical reviews, quality checks, and on-site inspections of installations and maintenance procedures. Produce documentation such as control philosophies, tender scopes, and equipment specifications. Oversee design quality processes and mentor junior team members. Attend factory and site acceptance tests, providing technical advice and guidance. Personal Specification of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer: Experience in LV power distribution and/or control systems design. Strong knowledge of legislation, standards, safety practices, and environmental best practices. Proficient in technical software, including Trimble, MS Office, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to learn and adopt a continuous improvement mindset. Industry experience in power generation, electrical distribution, or control systems (Desirable). Proven ability to communicate complex issues to clients and multidisciplinary teams (Desirable). Strong technical expertise to advise and integrate across disciplines (Desirable). Experience mentoring junior staff and working in multidisciplinary teams (Desirable). Familiarity with CDM responsibilities, procurement, and construction processes (Desirable). Demonstrated ability to manage programs, budgets, and quality requirements (Desirable).
