HEMCO are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated Controls Systems Design engineer, with a Degree / HNC or HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, looking to develop their career within a small company that has an enviable reputation for quality engineering solutions. Essential skills to include: Electrical control system design PLC, HMI/SCADA programming AC & DC Drives AutoCAD Microsoft Office set Practical knowledge of control systems design, build, wiring and testing. The successful applicant will need the ability to liaise and discuss detailed technical projects with clients both at our offices as well as on site and may be required to test/commission these projects, mostly within the U.K and occasionally abroad. Responsibilities: Identifying / interpreting customer requirements Designing electrical control systems and products Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules etc. Reading design specifications, functional design specifications and technical documentation Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs and timescales Working to British (BS), European (EN) and other standards Writing PLC, HMI/SCADA software Configuring AC & DC Variable Speed Drives / Inverters Liaising with others in the design team Liaising with clients and contractors Attending meetings on site Designing and conducting tests Recording, analysing and interpreting test data Proposing modifications and retesting products Qualifying the final product or system Servicing and maintaining equipment Preparing product documentation, writing reports and giving presentations Monitoring a product in use to improve on future design Please be aware we do not offer visa sponsorship and you must be eligible to work in the UK to apply.
