Electrical Design Engineer - The Role: The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as electrical design, power distribution, and power systems within the company's projects. The ideal candidate would be someone who is flexible and adaptable in their approach to project design, with the ability to work on things outside their normal comfort zone in a multidisciplinary environment and a quick learner. This role is primarily office-based though a degree of remote working could be available with agreement with your line manager. However, you would be expected to spend time in the office to work with your colleagues, especially during conceptual/front-end design stages and for handover of design. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for compliance of design against local and national regulations and ensuring compliance with the clients' requirements specifications. The design of products and services provided by the company, covering electrical drawings, panel drawings, and general arrangements, along with mechanical drawings where needed. Identify and advise on the business-provided product design concerns, resolving where possible. Document all designs and produce technical records. Keep up with the latest products in the market. Manage bill of materials for equipment and site packages. Liaising regularly with the design manager and project managers to ensure projects are on track and within budget. Provide assistance to the production team and site services engineers. Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an engineering-related field. Expertise in Power Distribution and Power Systems (ideally in both Diesel and Gas generators, their control systems, and applications). Practical experience with 400v systems. Full UK Driving License. Desirable: Collaborative individual with strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proficiency in electrical standards and regulations. Experience in electrical/control systems design and implementation. Logistics Management skills including expediting to ensure equipment arrives on time. Knowledge of networking and HV systems (3.3kv, 6.6kv, 11kv). Knowledge and experience of EPLAN and/or 2D AutoCAD for production of electrical single line diagrams and panel drawings or general arrangement drawings. Experience in Inspection and Quality Control and delivery in line with ISO9001 and 14001. ComAP equipment knowledge is beneficial although training is provided for the right candidate.
