The below job description outlines the position of Electrical Design Engineer based in Stockton-on-Tees. The client is interested in hearing from Graduate Electrical Design Engineers through to time-served Electrical Design Engineers. Typically, this person will design marine and offshore/subsea equipment and carry out hands-on commissioning. Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare project documentation including basis of design, detailed functional design specification, FAT, SIT, and SAT procedures. Create design concepts and produce detailed design documentation including electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cabinet and panel layout drawings, I/O lists, 3D models, bills of materials, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices, FMECA. Liaise with Purchasing for equipment procurement, preparing RFQs and technical procurement specifications, and with Production to resolve design documentation issues and create as-built drawings. Start up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and where necessary site commissioning and acceptance testing. Produce final project close-out documentation package including drawing updates, O&M manuals, and spare parts lists. Qualifications and other requirements:
Proficient with E-Plan, 3D modelling and simulation platforms; you will be responsible for taking designs from concept to reality, and will be familiar with producing specifications, designs, and calculations from scratch encompassing PLC/SCADA, power generation & distribution, and variable speed drive systems. Control and automation software experience would also be a distinct advantage. Degree qualified in Electrical / Marine / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering related discipline. Ability to drive.
