Job summary The Electrical Design Engineer will produce building project files, create schematics and block cable diagrams, and update current drawings while following recognized and current IEC drawing standards. Overview: Our client is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud. We offer a broad array of scanning system configurations that leverage low-, medium-, and high-energy X-ray technology to address each customer's unique security application requirements. Role Overview To contribute to the Electrical Design process, including building project files, creating schematics and block cable diagrams, and updating current drawings while following recognized and current IEC drawing standards. Responsibilities: Create electrical schematics and update others for control panels and external functions. Compile these into a project file from which you will generate cutting lists and cable schedules. Create block cable diagrams based on the system schematics. Enter part and cable information within drawing files. Liaise with production engineers to update schematic drawings, BCDs, and cable schedules as project builds progress. Carry out and compile EHSR reports on all products. Work in various other parts of the business in different roles when deemed necessary. Qualifications: Some experience as an electrical engineer or panel wire person working within the automation and control industry is ideal. Proficient in Eplan software for electrical design. Knowledge of control wiring, PLC wiring, low voltage switchgear, and Field I/O applications. Proficient using Windows 7 or higher and Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels. Well organized with the ability to work in a structured manner under pressure. Hardworking and able to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Quick thinker and strong learner. Able to work comfortably in a team and independently when necessary. Punctual, committed to learning, exceptionally organized, and attentive to detail. Highly motivated with a can-do attitude and a positive outlook. Managed by:
