GAP Technical is proud to represent a nationally recognized Electrical Contractor in their search for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading company known for delivering high-quality electrical solutions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed electrical building services designs based on scope books and performance specifications. Conduct site visits to collaborate with client engineers and understand project requirements. Work closely with the estimating and project teams to ensure cost-effective designs that align with project budgets. Represent the company with confidence and professionalism in all client interactions.

Required Skills & Software Proficiency

The ideal candidate will have experience producing design documentation using the following software: AutoCAD Amtech ProDesign Relux or Similar Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as an intermediate or senior electrical designer (Preferred). Time-served Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship (Preferred). HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (Preferred).

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate should have experience in developing the following: Detailed scope of works and specification documents. Cable calculations (using Amtech or Similar). Lighting calculations (using Relux or similar). LV load schedules and single-line diagrams. Earthing single-line diagrams. Cable and distribution board schedules. Primary ladder rack and tray layouts, including routing and sizing. Small power layout drawings. General & emergency lighting layouts. Lighting control system designs. Basic knowledge of intruder alarms, access control, and fire alarm systems. Some familiarity with high-voltage systems (Advantageous). Experience in Rail Industry (Highly Desirable).
