Electrical Designer / Project Manager - Solar PV

Cornwall / Devon - Hybrid Working

£35,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Progression + Training + Pension + Holidays

This company are multifaceted consultants and installers of renewable systems, specialising in Solar PV, Air source/Ground source heat pumps and Battery storage. They are going from strength to strength and have exciting plans for future projects, and are now looking to expand their design team to facilitate success moving forward.

In this role you will be developing installation specifications and drawings while creating initial designs and quotations of renewable systems. You will be supporting the development of project schedules and detailed plans while having the opportunity to learn new design software and other renewable energy technologies. You will then manage projects giving technical input on site, liaising with the client and ensuring projects are completed to specification and standards.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering or hold electrical qualifications, and have good experience in electrical design. Candidates with a strong background in solar PV design that do not hold electrical qualifications will still be considered and are encouraged to apply.

The Role:

  • Complete designs for commercial scale solar PV projects
  • Track the cost and schedule of projects and reporting on this
  • Manage projects through installation phases
  • Ensure projects are completed to specification and standards
  • Answer technical queries on site
  • Hybrid working with regular site visits


The Person:

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Qualified Electrician
  • Good understanding of CAD programmes
  • Passionate about renewable energy
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Flexible to travel to sites across the South West and Nationwide
