What you'll do: Learning technical details about Battery Energy Storage System, Critical Subcomponents, New Battery and Inverter Technologies, New controls solutions for BESS Support on boarding of product, inspection, testing Assisting with SAT and FAT of the products by participating in testing at Aggreko depots or customer site Understand the standards, certifications for BESS required for different part of the world Support for documentation of products, quality issues on product and implementation of solutions identified Create document templates for standardizing new documentation required for BESS product line Define & support the testing and validation of bespoke controls for energy storage systems Train less experienced personnel and other trainers
As a Controls Engineer in BESS rental space, you will be responsible for identifying right controls solutions for BESS fleets, doing Proof of Concept for various applications, FAT, SAT, due diligence, and documentation. You'll have the following skills and experience: Electrical or Electronic or Controls Engineering degree (or equivalent) Understanding of CODESYS programming Understanding of controls solutions available for BESS and Generators e.g., Deif, ComAP, DeepSea etc Understanding of Power Systems and BESS inverter capabilities Understanding of Applications of BESS and Gensets At least 3 years of experience with controls development, testing, simulation, and applications in the rentals space At least 3 years of experience with Energy Storage Systems, Renewables, and Hybrids, including product testing and terminologies. Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills - communicates clearly and effectively with all levels of stakeholders (internal and external) A track record of motivating, inspiring and supporting individuals to be their best and grow
