Electrical Engineer – Full Time (Specialising in HV Systems)

Job Objective Provide electrical technical support for clients and the operations team, with a particular emphasis on HV jointing and switchgear maintenance in Oil & Gas and Renewable sectors. This role involves both onshore support planning and site execution, including overseas assignments. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise: Plan and execute HV jointing and switchgear maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting. Client Support :Provide electrical technical support and advice to V-TES personnel and clients. Project Management :Prepare scopes of work, operational test procedures, and review/amend field service reports. Safety and Standards :Ensure all electrical work activities are carried out safely and to a high standard under the permit to work system where applicable. Team Collaboration :Actively participate in the company safety management system and competency management system. Operational Efficiency :Assist in implementing changes to improve team efficiency. Customer Relations :Promote excellent customer relations at the worksite. Field Work :Perform offshore/onshore work for clients, including overseas assignments. Project Planning :Work pack generation and conduct site surveys to ensure accurate planning and execution of projects. Material Management :Develop and manage material requirements for projects. Cost Control :Oversee project cost control to ensure projects are completed within budget. Mentorship :Mentor and provide guidance to other support engineers. Knowledge and Competence Required Knowledge : Proficient skills within the service line and a general understanding of other service functions. Knowledgeable in HSE standards and guidelines for V-TES personnel. Offshore experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical industry. Key communication skills. Competence with Microsoft Office. Required Competence : Minimum HNC in Electrical Engineering. Competent in hazardous areas, HV jointing, and switchgear maintenance and testing services. CompEx 01-04. HV Switching and System Control (C&G0672) Preferred Competence : Experience with fibre optic systems and technologies.
