Electrical Engineer (HVDC)

They are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to play an essential role in supporting our client's FACTS (Synchronous Condenser and Statcoms) and HVDC business development activities. This role requires strong technical skills as well as project management and client management capabilities.

The Electrical Engineer will engage with clients, as part of a team, to market our client's technical capabilities, understanding client requirements and upcoming project pipelines to consolidate client relationships and contribute to equipment development plans by providing market-level information.

Duties will include: Evaluating technical documentation needed for the bidding phase of FACTS and HVDC projects, providing similar support for projects in the execution phase. Engaging internally with company HQ and overseas factories and design offices to successfully plan and deliver work. Engaging externally with supply chain partners, sub-contractors, and equipment suppliers to build relationships and strengthen the company's competitive market position. Involvement in all technically related aspects of tenders. Reviewing enquiry documentation with reference to the scope of supply and client requirements. Contributing to system design of HVDC/FACTS solutions (e.g., single line diagrams, layouts, protection & control, main balance of plant equipment) and review of detailed output from the engineering team. Checking system study reports to ensure compliance with client specifications and relevant transmission grid codes (e.g., main circuit parameters, harmonic filter design, audible noise, availability assessment, loss analysis, insulation coordination, dynamic performance, electromagnetic transient performance, earthing and protection studies). Reviewing evaluation of offers from suppliers for major critical components to ensure that required bids follow the client's specification and scope of work. Preparing cost estimations (equipment and manpower) for the tender to ensure all items are covered in the costing part. Managing Technical Query responses raised by clients.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject. You will have previous HV power experience including power generation or transmission experience covering FACTS (Synchronous Condensers, Statcoms etc.), HVDC systems, etc., with a System Studies background and the ability to perform studies, write specifications, etc.

Skills: A strong command of English (Business and Technical). Project Management capability. Analytical, teamwork, and communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
