Job Description Electrician Woodland Hospital | Permanent | Competitive The Role Exciting opportunities have arisen at Woodland Hospital as we continue to expand with Glendon Wood Hospital, our brand-new day case facility based in the Glendon area of Kettering. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the team. The working hours are 37.5, to be worked flexibly, Monday to Friday between 08.00 - 18.00. Participation in the Hospital on-call rota and occasional out of hours work may be required. High-level duties include: Carrying out electrical work replacing and upgrading light fittings across the site. Upgrading worn out and damaged accessories. Removal of unused electrical systems and circuits. Installation of dado trunking and similar. Replacing and making safe any damaged appliances or accessories. Carrying out Pre Planned Maintenance (PPM) across the site and taking additional responsibilities for electrically based systems. Ensuring legal compliance of electrical systems and appliances including EICR’s, PAT testing, and emergency lighting and associated action plans. Providing competent Technical, Health, Safety, and Environmental support & assistance. Supporting the Engineering team in carrying out their role. Reviewing fault logs and allocating appropriate resources to each task within the area of responsibility. On-call cover on a rotational basis. What you’ll bring with you: City & Guilds Part 3, HNC, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent preferably in Electrical Installations. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of Legionella prevention requirements within hospital buildings is desirable; training will be provided. Demonstrated high level of organisation and time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities. Sound fault finding techniques. IOSH Health and Safety / Risk Assessment training is desirable; training will be provided. Benefits Contributory pension scheme. About Us The Woodland Hospital in Kettering has four theatres operating 6 days a week, covering a diverse range of elective services including Orthopaedic, Spinal, Pain, General surgery, Weight loss Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT and Ophthalmology. We have a 23 bedded inpatient ward and 19 Day case Rooms/Bays. We also have a pharmacy and physiotherapy unit and radiology services at the hospital. Glendon Wood Hospital works closely with Woodland Hospital with clinical staff moving across both sites as well as some non-clinical staff moving between the two sites in support of the clinical activities. Glendon Wood Hospital has 2 laminar flow theatres and a designated endoscopy suite as well as outpatients, physiotherapy and a full imaging suite including CT, MRI and mammography.
