Job Description Electrical Installations and Commissioning Engineer - Submarines Full Time Barrow-in-Furness, UK An exciting opportunity has arisen for an

Electrical Installation and Commissioning Engineer

to join the On-Site Team at Rolls-Royce Submarines based in Barrow-in-Furness. Your role will include testing and commissioning of the newest electrical NSRP components from the initial delivery to the final testing of the platform as well as producing, reviewing, and authorising First of Class procedures for build and commissioning. What we offer: We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts. Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week. What you will be doing: You will be expected to provide support to the site team and shipbuilder for all build and commissioning issues. This will include review of defects, problems, emergent issues including final sentencing. Approving concessions raised by the shipbuilder during the build and commissioning programme. Your role will operate within a cross engineering discipline team with multiple industrial partner organisations and therefore interpersonal and team building skills are vital. A Site Engineer Training Plan will be provided to drive the technical development required to be able to represent Rolls-Royce within on-site Approval Groups as the NSRP Technical Authority. The curriculum covers external and internal courses and on the job training which leads to a formal oral qualification board. May include periodic attendance at other site locations within the UK and abroad. Who we are looking for: Preferably be educated to degree level, studying for a degree or equivalent with practical experience in an electrical engineering discipline. You will proactively drive for results, demonstrate creativity in problem solving, be comfortable with ambiguity, and have strong planning and organisational skills. You will ideally have a detailed knowledge of the Rolls-Royce NSRP design but not essential. The role requires an ability to represent Rolls-Royce independently and be comfortable within a shipyard environment, so must have strong people and collaboration skills. A robust tolerance to different organisational behaviours will be required and be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders whilst building relationships over long distances. Be autonomous with the ability to progress workload independently, supported via management steering sessions. Have a strong capability to manage a changing environment, due to the nature of visits and events' management. Be a positive team player focused on working collaboratively and supporting the broader team to be at its best. Be able to work with some ambiguity, understand the 'end goal' and breaking this out into tangible 'steps'. We are an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives which are crucial to innovation and problem solving. To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to

hold a Security Check clearance . Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a

UK national

or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
