£32,000 - £43,000 dependant on experience

Job Purpose: As a Mechatronics Technician, you will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Your role will involve supporting the design, development, installation, and operation of various engineering systems, as well as establishing a planned maintenance system to minimize downtime and ensure equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and rectify faults in accordance with industry standards. Plan and conduct inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance for optimal machine performance. Manage and diagnose inverters (Siemens, Omron, Yaskawa, ABB) and perform installation, testing, and calibration of machinery. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble production equipment while ensuring safety and efficiency. Propose and implement improvements in automation and mechanical systems. Prioritize maintenance requests and manage spare parts inventory effectively. Collaborate with external service providers when required. Understand and manage all plant and equipment on-site. Construct and standardize machine parts, tools, and instrumentation. Manage technical documentation and interpret engineering drawings for effective fault diagnosis and repair. Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety standards in all work activities. Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Participate in special projects and undertake training to maintain up-to-date skills.

Qualifications and Skills: Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Competence in handling inverters and related control circuits. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair. Commitment to safety and adherence to relevant codes of practice. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
