As part of our esteemed technical team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll spearhead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all systems within our plant. Collaborating closely with our dedicated maintenance team, you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, tackle breakdowns, implement repairs, and execute planned maintenance activities. Success in this role hinges not only on your technical acumen but also on your ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively. You'll be empowered to take proactive measures to prevent breakdowns, implement enhancements, and minimize downtime, ensuring seamless operations at every turn. Responsibilities: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety codes. Stay updated on regulatory requirements and implement necessary measures to maintain compliance. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation in all maintenance workshops. Optimise the performance of machinery and equipment to maximise efficiency and productivity. Liaise with the maintenance team and Technical Manager to ensure adequate inventory of spare parts. Find new ways of optimising equipment and identifying energy-saving opportunities. Liaise with external vendors for specialized maintenance services. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs without constant supervision. Diagnose technical issues swiftly and accurately. Maintain and troubleshoot systems including power distribution and other operational technologies. Perform maintenance on production equipment and manage tasks involving electrical controls. Execute preventive maintenance routines and review work order assignments. Ensure safety by identifying hazards and taking corrective actions. Maintain detailed records and logs related to equipment history and operations. Essential Criteria: 5+ years of electrical engineering background with mechanical proficiency. 5+ years experience in a process driven manufacturing environment. Demonstratable track record of performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Professional qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Testing and Inspection as IET Wiring Regulations - Level 3. Proactive demeanour and willingness to engage in hands-on tasks. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems. Desirable Criteria: City & Guilds 2391 Certificate or equivalent. Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Certified in IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition). Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
