Come and be part of the future of engineering and maintenance operations within Biffa. Location: Redcar Hours of work: 8am - 4pm (Monday to Friday) A quick look at the role. As an electrical Project Engineer you will oversee the installation of electrical systems across our Polymer locations, ensuring all work meets industry standards. You will play a key role in driving process improvements alongside Operations, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams. Additionally, you will also take the lead on Polymer Optical Sorting and Extrusion equipment, supporting research, development, and testing with occasional travel within the UK and abroad. Your core responsibilities. Manage and authorise all electrical supply designs, installations, and modifications across all Polymer locations, ensuring compliance with legislation and insurance requirements. Oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of periodic electrical inspections and testing. Lead and support process improvement initiatives across the Polymers function. Manage projects and associated budgets, ensuring timely delivery and performance requirements are met. Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering documents and site plans. Lead the design and sourcing of Optical Sorting systems, acting as the company expert/authority. Lead the design and sourcing of Extrusion systems, acting as the company expert/authority. Manage contract labour to ensure effective project support while maintaining health and safety standards. Requirements Here’s what we require: Engineering qualification with relevant experience. Certified in health and safety (IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent). Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, CAD and project management software.
