The Company: Green Cat Hydrogen Limited (GCH) is a dynamic and innovative green hydrogen project developer. GCH focuses on the deployment of electrolytic hydrogen projects as a key part of the global energy transition and de-carbonisation strategy. The business works closely with sister companies through the planning, permitting/licensing, engineering and design and construction of green hydrogen projects. We are seeking a motivated and talented Project Engineer (electrical bias) to support the successful delivery of numerous green hydrogen projects and work throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, gaining valuable experience in the hydrogen and/or renewable energy sector. The Role: Support the multi-discipline design development (covering chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, control and automation disciplines) and successful delivery of green hydrogen projects. Develop design concepts and provide technical guidance for the design of electrical systems. Prepare key technical project documentation (e.g. equipment specifications, drawings). Participate in project meetings and complete assigned follow-up actions in a timely manner. Work closely with the internal GCH team to ensure that other departments can effectively support projects. Co-ordinate and manage external resources and activities (e.g. site surveys). Develop project cost estimates and project schedules for assigned work packages. Engage and liaise with equipment suppliers and offtakers. Undertake project procurement activities including issuing of request for information/request for quotation forms and supporting formal tendering processes. Participate in safety studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA) as internal electrical representative. Support development of company electrical standards. Support commissioning of newly installed equipment and plant. Ensure all project activities comply with all relevant health, safety and environmental standards. Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay current with industry trends and technologies. The Candidate must have: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. 3+ years of relevant professional experience in engineering or project delivery. Proficiency in using engineering software tools (e.g. AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to travel to site as necessary, supported by a valid UK driving license. Legal right to work full-time in the United Kingdom, in perpetuity. The Candidate would benefit from: Experience delivering industrial and/or renewable/conventional energy projects. Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, APM), or an understanding of associated project management principles (PMBOK, PRINCE2, or APM Body of Knowledge). Experience with industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements. Active membership of a relevant professional body.
