Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, and as a partner with the production manager and quality functions, the role of the Electrical Section Engineer will see you responsible for the electrical engineering function within your area. Responsible for ensuring compliance with electrical safety requirements, legislation, and company standards, this role involves developing and ensuring safe working procedures are followed.

Supervise and manage internal and external technical specialists. Provide engineering input to support and improve operations. Control materials needed to satisfy the operational requirements of your area. Assist in the training and continuous development of the engineering team. Ensure that statutory and company requirements are met for all assets within the department. Create and develop planned maintenance inspections and schedules to improve plant performance. To lead and co-ordinate investigations, identify root cause and implement solutions to any problems occurring within your area of responsibility. To monitor and drive KPIs for your area of responsibility Requirements of the Electrical Section Engineer You are a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results. Previous background in plant engineering and maintenance techniques. Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC or higher depending on other experience) Plant engineering experience with three phase systems, AC and DC equipment and ideally PLC experience of GEM, Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems. Experience and knowledge of steel manufacturing equipment. Detailed knowledge of complex processes, the associated machinery and control systems Well-developed communication and relationship building skills and an ability to work with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. An understanding of risk management. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions. Experience with a CMMS. The Working Pattern of the Electrical Section Engineer This is a Monday to Friday role, with some weekend working.
