Ensure that all plant and people operate within and comply with Liberty Speciality Steels (LSS) policy and statutory Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation. Ensure that statutory and LSS requirements are met for all assets within the department. Determine, monitor, and control the engineering resources and materials needed to satisfy the operational requirements of your area. Devise and develop planned maintenance and inspection schedules. Provide technical and engineering expertise to production and quality managers in your area. Identify and assist in the preparation of development opportunities in your area, resulting in the continuous enhancement of engineering and production performance. Assist in the training and continuous development of a multi-discipline engineering team. Lead and coordinate investigations, identify root causes, and implement solutions to any problems occurring within your area of responsibility. Monitor and drive KPIs for your area of responsibility. Your previous background in plant engineering and maintenance will prepare you well for the challenges of this role. To be successful, you will demonstrate the following criteria: Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC or higher depending on other experience). Plant engineering experience with three-phase systems, AC and DC equipment, and ideally PLC experience with GEM, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens systems. Experience and knowledge of Remelt facilities including VAR, VIM, ESR & Heat Treatment Furnaces. Detailed knowledge of complex processes, the associated machinery, and control systems. Well-developed communication and relationship-building skills and an ability to work with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. An understanding of risk management. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions. Experience with a CMMS.
