As Service Engineer within NOV’s Rig Aftermarket (RA) Team you will be responsible for the repair and inspection of NOV Rig equipment globally both offshore and onshore. As part of our aftermarket service group you will make recommendations to customers which ensures equipment continuously operates at efficient and profitable levels. You will react to ‘rig down’ situations as top priority and support installation and commissioning projects (I&C) in countries such as China, Korea, Singapore, and ME on products ranging from Rig Floor Equipment (RFE), Legacy National Equipment (NOI) and Pressure Control Equipment (PCE). You will be homebased within mainland UK and be expected to travel globally on an ad-hoc basis. You will receive full training on product lines by NOV training personnel and will gain on-the-job training accompanied by experienced NOV Service Engineers. Key to this role and your development will be your participation in the NOV Global Competency Program. A strong foundation to your success in this role will be your ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics and the ability to interrogate PLC programs, make minor software changes, fault finding on both AC and DC power systems and Variable Frequency Drives. Your existing experience will ideally be within the FMCG Manufacturing industries, Paper industry and heavy engineering industry, where you have been responsible for the maintenance and servicing of PLC and Computer control systems, familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Service, repair, inspect and identify faults on NOV Rig Equipment on a global basis Support I&C projects as required Travel when required on an ad-hoc basis as dictated by business/customer need Read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to identify and correct faults, redline drawings/schematics Respond to emergency calls for Rig Down situations when required Advise customers on the maintenance and upkeep of their NOV equipment as per the various manuals, Product Information Bulletins (PIB) drawing revision changes, software updates etc. Be aware of and adhere to HSE requirements whilst working on both onshore/offshore installations Support other departments and carry out other duties as required by business needs Qualifications: Time-served Engineer (essential) HNC in a relevant engineering qualification or equivalent (desirable) Experience: Working knowledge of installation, commissioning, fault finding and repair in an automation related field (essential) Working knowledge of PLC and Computer control systems including making minor software changes, AC & DC Power Systems, VFD’s, hydraulics/pneumatics within FMCG manufacturing environments (essential) Working knowledge within a similar position either offshore or in an automation field (desirable) Skills, training or special knowledge: Ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics (essential) Ability to interrogate various formats of PLC software and make minor changes to software (essential) Working knowledge of AC & DC power systems and VFD’s (essential) Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook) (desirable) Good level of PLC experience (desirable) Good level of knowledge of control systems (desirable) What we offer you: Health & Wellbeing: 30 days holiday plus 4 bank holidays Private Medical Insurance Employee Assistance Programme Finance & Protection: Pension Plan Income Protection Life Assurance Personal Accident A flexible benefits program for you and your family through salary sacrifice: Dental Insurance Healthcare Cash Plan Partner Life Assurance Critical Illness Retail vouchers Gym membership Cycle to work Travel insurance
