Solar & Battery Storage Technicians . This role involves maintaining and operating utility-scale solar PV and battery storage plants, with openings available in East Anglia, Torquay, the East Midlands, Devon, Hampshire, and Sussex. What You’ll Do As a Solar & Battery Storage Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of renewable energy systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Conducting inspections, maintenance, and fault-finding on AC and DC systems. Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Troubleshooting and repairing communication equipment such as RS485, Ethernet, and fibre optics. Performing reactive maintenance to minimise downtime. Managing subcontractors and quality-checking their work. Keeping accurate records and contributing to reports on plant performance. You’ll also participate in a weekend on-call rota and may occasionally travel to cover other sites or attend training. What You’ll Bring Skills and Knowledge A solid understanding of solar PV systems, with knowledge of AC, DC, and SCADA networks. Familiarity with battery storage technology and central inverters (training provided if needed). The ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Experience Background in MW-scale solar PV installation or maintenance. Experience with high-voltage systems, data monitoring tools, and fibre optic communications. Hands-on expertise in fault-finding and working remotely. Qualifications Approved Electrician certification with inspection and testing qualifications (e.g., C&G 2391). A full UK driving licence is essential. Health and safety training (e.g., IOSH or SMSTS) and first aid certification are beneficial. Why Apply?
