Full Time, Permanent Working Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. On call 1 week in 6 (standby and on call fee to be discussed at interview) with AM weekend work rota (8AM-12PM). Role Overview Within VIVO, we are currently recruiting for an Electrician with a domestic background to undertake reactive maintenance and minor repairs on MoD family housing in our Aldershot area. You will predominantly cover the area of Winchester, Andover, and Middle Wallop to maintain a patch of the 5000 military family houses that VIVO covers on this contract. Starting your day at home, you will be scheduled up to 8 reactive electrical maintenance or repair tasks across the area, using your provided work van to travel from task to task. You will be required to undertake reactive maintenance and minor repairs on domestic electrical components such as electric cookers, lighting, consumer units (Main’s fuse boards), and electrical vehicle charging points. This role will involve participating in an on-call rota to cover emergency call outs during non-core hours and weekend work to cover appointments from 8AM-12PM. The team comprises 28; however, you will predominantly work alone, with some teamwork with another electrician when necessary for specific tasks. This position will include interactions with families residing in the properties, so it is ideal that you have some experience working with customers. There will be opportunities within this role to develop your experience and qualifications if desired. What you’ll need to do this role First and foremost, it is essential that you have a C&G (NVQ Level 3 – 2356) in Electrotechnical Services (Installations Buildings & Structures), along with Wiring Regulations to BS7671 (C&G 2382-18). It is also essential that you have previous work experience in a domestic background. As this will be a role with customer interaction, it is essential you have some experience in a customer-facing role and excellent communication skills. This role will include travel within multiple locations, so you must hold a full, clean UK driving licence. A company van will be provided for business use, which can be privately taxed for personal use. It is desirable that you have experience operating within either an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment. You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
