Electrician
Electrician focuses on carry out preventative maintenance, inspections, fault-finding, and repairs on port cranes and mobile plant equipment.
What the role involves
- Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections, fault-finding, and repairs on port cranes and mobile plant equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise operational downtime.
- Diagnose faults using structured problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
- Restore defective equipment to full working order safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining harbour mobile cranes and other mobile plant used in a busy dock environment.
- Work with PLC-controlled systems and AC/DC drive systems where applicable.
Skills and requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industry following completion of a recognised technical apprenticeship (essential).
- Level 3 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- Strong attention to detail and effective interpersonal skills (essential).
