Role:
Working as part of a team you will be responsible for installing new & repairing existing gate automation systems to include GSM video/audio, radio control, keypads & vehicle detection loops.
Please note - you must be happy to work outside & spend 95% of your day at customer premises within a one hour drive from Biggleswade.
About you:

Essential:
Have a working knowledge of basic circuits at 24 volts
Have a UK driving licence & your own transport
Live within a 15 mile radius of Biggleswade
Have a positive outlook, personable and professional attitude to working outside
Be physically fit with great customer service skills
Preferred:
Part P Domestic Electrical Installer (17th/18th edition)
DHF Standards (level 2 minimum)
Knowledge of processes controls is an advantage
Full Certified training will be given in gate automation and safety systems for candidates who are strong with a wider mechanical/electrical background.
For those with current gate safety and automation certification, my client will support renewals and development.
Main duties:
1st fix: to install power supply cable runs & other cabling
1st fix: to support team with installation general duties
2nd fix: to install gate automation and gate access control
2nd fix: to set-up, program, Force Test and commission systems
Interpret drawings for site/equipment layout and electrical wiring.
Fault finding: investigate, diagnose and repair faults to existing systems.
Complete routine services to existing systems, completed on a rolling schedule -particular attention being paid to safety systems.
Repair surveys to enable relevant stock to be ordered and repairs to be carried out.
Carry out safety system surveys, to ensure potential new and existing customers are offered the correct safety devices to ensure Compliance with Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regs 2008.
To lead site management; liaising with the team, the customer & other relevant trades, to ensure the works are completed effectively and efficiently.
General duties:
Liaising directly with customers
Assist the team with gate moving and hanging
Loading and unloading van/trailer & assisting team to keep vans stocked and tidy
Benefits:
Hours of work 8am – 5pm (one hour lunch). No weekend working.
Company van/tools along with a uniform and health & safety equipment will be provided.
25 days plus bank holidays plus Christmas/New Year shutdown
