As Electronics Design & Layout Engineer, you will report to the Lead Hardware Engineer. Working alongside mechanical engineers and firmware development engineers, you will be responsible for specifying components and designing circuits for use in our products. You will work with the compliance and QA teams to ensure that designs are rigorously tested. You will also work with the manufacturing team to ensure new designs are suitable for volume production and support existing products.
Responsibilities:
Specify, Design, Document and Test analogue and digital circuit designs
Circuit analysis, modelling and simulation using common industry tools
Work with compliance team to ensure relevant standards are inherent in new designs
Test plan development alongside QA & Test Team
DFM collaboration with Production Engineering Teams
Component research and collaboration with procurement team
Recognise developments/inventions that lead to new patents, and support IP team
Collaboration with engineering and production teams, for test and product lifetime support
Identify technical and project risks
Work autonomously to provide innovative solutions to unique challenges
Qualifications and Experience:
BEng/MEng in a relevant subject or demonstrable experience working at this level
IPC CID or CID+ (desirable)
Essential:
Experience of electronics lifecycle design
Experience of schematic capture and PCB layout
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong consideration will also be given to experience in any of the following:
Altium Designer and/or DipTrace software packages
CAD library creation and management
Understanding of PCB layout for RF
Power electronics experience inc. Power Line Communications
IoT communication hardware and protocols
High speed circuit design
Coding (C, C#, Python)
Matlab
