We have a new opportunity to be part of the Electronics team in the role of

Electronics Design Engineer . In this role you will be required to: Design electronic harnesses, enclosures, and installations for the race car. Produce technical and assembly drawings for mechanical, composite, and electronic components along with the required tooling. Design to meet the specifications/requirements provided while minimising component mass/packaging volume and ensuring that all regulations are complied with. Specify wiring schedules, wire gauges, connector, and pin requirements. Ensure that the installation requirements for electrical/electronic components are met in terms of clearance, cooling, anti-vibration mounting, etc. The design of custom electronic components, PCBs, electronic layout, and sensor systems. Liaising with other design groups to ensure that electrical installation requirements are considered and effective, integrated packaging solutions are achieved. Dealing with any enquiries from the production department regarding component release, up-issue, scheduling, etc. Supporting manufacturing areas/suppliers with any questions they have with regards to the designs of parts that have been released. Being involved in the initial build of parts to ensure any issues are quickly identified/rectified. Supporting the manufacturing processes with the electronics workshop as and when required. To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required. To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure. To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of harness design practices and associated software packages. Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role. Key skills: Essential Relevant qualification with experience in electronics. Experience designing wiring harnesses, electronic components, and installations preferably in motorsport. Experience using industry standard CAD software packages, preferably CATIA 3DX. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of harness components and materials. Experience designing electronic components, PCBs, and sensors. Ability to demonstrate an innovative, practical approach to problem solving with a high attention to detail. Be highly motivated with the ability to work to a demanding schedule, thriving under pressure and have a flexible approach to working hours. Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills. To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment. Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety. Beneficial Working knowledge and experience using Catia Electrical Workbench. Working knowledge of Zuken. Working knowledge of Altium. Experience developing strain gauging systems. Experience with vehicle communication systems (CAN, Flexray, ethernet).
