Reporting to the Engineering Manager, my client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their team in Weymouth. This role involves assisting in the design, production, test, and development of electrical and electronics hardware for their technical products and related equipment. Responsibilities: Designing electrical and electronics hardware. Investigating and troubleshooting electronics hardware faults. Creating and implementing test plans for electronics hardware. Participating in product design reviews. Supporting the development of new products, including manufacturing and testing of electronic assemblies. Liaising with contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) companies for PCB assembly build and testing. Designing to FCC, IEC, and EU EMC standards. Generating engineering documentation and preparing test reports. Collecting and analyzing data to identify patterns and recommend alternative strategies. Ensuring a safe, secure, and legal work environment. Contributing to the client's QA systems and quality ethos. Assisting the Engineering Manager as required. Skills and Experience: In-depth knowledge of electrical and electronics hardware design. Proficiency in Altium Designer is desired. Experience with microcontrollers and motor drive systems. Meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in soldering and reworking PCBs, including LSI and fine-pitch components. Ability to understand and use circuit diagrams. Capable of building small circuits for test purposes. Skilled in fault-finding to component level. Familiarity with electronics in a production environment, including ESD precautions. Strong technical documentation and reporting skills. Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills.
