Category:
The Formula 1 Research and Development department produces a wide range of customised and bespoke solutions to support the timing, televising, and organisation of Formula 1 events. We architect and design embedded systems for F1 cars to provide team telemetry and driver/engineer audio, and to deliver on-board video and audio for F1 broadcasters and digital platforms. This is in addition to a variety of other electronics solutions designed by our small in-house team to support any aspect of an F1 event. THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic, focus-driven electronics systems engineer with a passion for all aspects of embedded electronics to complement our small and efficient team of systems, hardware, telemetry, and embedded software engineers. You will need to have a solid background in electronics engineering with experience in embedded system development, involving both hardware (schematic and PCB design and debug) and embedded software design (microcontrollers and microprocessors). Strong experience in developing technical documentation such as system, hardware/software requirements, specifications, test plans, and test reports is essential. We are seeking a product-oriented individual who is passionate about managing solutions from conception to deployment. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, guiding the design process, and meticulous documentation. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with hardware and software teams to actualise solutions and dedicate themselves to both aspects of development to support our project goals fully. You should be prepared to research and quickly learn new technologies, processes, strategies, and tools to meet project requirements. While this is not a core travelling role, you may need to attend F1 races to support products during the deployment and handover phases of the projects you work on. About You

Educated to degree level (or equivalent vocational and industry experience) in electronics engineering (or suitable equivalent, such as mechatronics). Strong background in the engineering domain, with experience in embedded systems development and support, especially full lifecycle. Engineering design and documentation of products with electronic systems and components. Excellent communication skills, being able to tailor information to the target audience. Good planning skills, including the ability to prioritise and multi-task effectively. Highly proficient in documentation creation for internal and external use. Key areas of relevant skills include Python, C, Linux, and schematic capture/PCB design. Highly motivated and flexible to change. Calm, logical approach to problem solving. Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure and challenging environment, yet have a methodical and structured approach to work. Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
