We are looking for a casualty solicitor (5-10 PQE) to join our Casualty team in Leeds. At present, the dedicated team comprises of 6 fee earners, a Partner, Senior Associate, Associate, Solicitor, Trainee, and Paralegal. The work is fast-moving, varied, and challenging. The successful candidate will receive full training in our internal practices and procedures. What we ask of you:
Provide initial prospects/opinions to insurers on a wide variety of disputes, including those relating to employers liability and public liability within the social welfare, equine, and construction sectors. Manage a case load of their own, including recommending reserves and setting strategies under the supervision of a Partner. Support the Head of Department with the supervision of solicitors and paralegals, and in achieving the strategic aims of the department. Set and deliver objectives personally and through the team, in conjunction with Head of Department, monitor performance and progress, and provide professional guidance to team members as appropriate. Have a mixed case load of fast track, intermediate, and multi-track work. What you will bring to the role:
Existing defendant personal injury litigation experience in both EL/PL and professional liability claims involving personal injury. A thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules. Accustomed to running their own caseload under appropriate supervision. Strong communication and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload. Strong salary and great benefits.
