Casualty Solicitor
Leading insurance firm have a rare opportunity for a casualty solicitor to join this successful team.
We are looking for a Solicitor to join our claims team in Leicester or Birmingham. We offer flexible work patterns.
Your Role: Acting on behalf of various local authorities and their insurers, your primary role will be to manage your own caseload, and assist senior fee earners on their cases. Your caseload will include an interesting mix of pre-litigated and litigated claims including Highways Law, Occupiers Liability, Employers Liability, and Housing disrepair.
Your Responsibilities:
Draft and perform legal research, investigations etc. Draft pleadings, witness statements and prepare cases for trial. Attend at conferences and Court. Communicate with clients, Counsel and various other parties. Achieve set financial and chargeable targets. Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KPIs are adhered to. Comply with relevant policies and procedures.
About You: You will be a qualified Solicitor with a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have: Current experience at handling/managing defendant EL/PL casualty claims is essential. Previous experience at managing defendant EL/PL specific fraud claims is desirable. 2YRS PQE+ Genuine interest in claims validation and fraud. Working knowledge of PL, EL, Highways and Housing Law. Experience of handling own casualty caseload. Good drafting skills. Good influencing skills. Excellent communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
