Embedded Engineer – C / C++

Farnborough, Hampshire

Sole UK Citizenship & with the ability to secure UK security clearance (SC)

Picture a role where your technical skills contribute directly to the future of secure communications for government and defense. As a Software Engineer in our UK-based team, you’ll be developing Data at Rest solutions—technology designed to safeguard critical information in real-time, even in the most challenging and sensitive environments.

This isn’t just another software role; it’s a full-cycle development experience that puts you in the driver’s seat. You’ll be involved in every stage of the process, from analyzing requirements and designing architecture to hands-on coding in C/C++, testing, and integration. Our projects go beyond typical embedded applications; here, you’ll be working on encrypted microelectronics, secure communications systems, and prototype devices that push the boundaries of data security.

Your daily responsibilities will vary, and that’s by design. One day, you might be refining encryption algorithms or troubleshooting a multi-threaded process; the next, you’re optimizing memory management to ensure the security and efficiency of data storage. The team culture is fast-paced and collaborative—you’ll work alongside hardware, firmware, FPGA, and software engineers, tackling projects end-to-end in a close-knit, dynamic environment that values quick thinking and hands-on involvement.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a solid understanding of embedded software and operating systems, particularly multi-threading, memory management, and inter-process communication. A strong grasp of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) will be invaluable, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python or bash. Experience with configuration management tools such as GitHub is essential as well.

Given the sensitive nature of our work, eligibility for UK SC clearance is a must, along with sole British nationality. In this role, you’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, propose new tools, and refine processes. You’ll be at the heart of a mission that’s critical for protecting data and maintaining secure communications in defense operations. If you’re ready to take on a challenge and be part of a team where innovation meets impact, let’s connect.
