About the job As the EMEA Credit & Collections Manager, you will be at the forefront of our financial strategy, overseeing a diverse team and managing key relationships with third-party partners. Your role will be pivotal in creating, maintaining, and monitoring credit policies, controls, and procedures for the EMEA region. You will create innovative strategies and develop transformation and BPO initiatives in line with our future finance direction, including the integration of new digital tools. You will set ambitious targets and lead collections performance through coaching, advice, and direct involvement. Your team You will directly manage and oversee a small team consisting of European Credit Professionals and the Credit & Collections Team at Canon Europe NV on behalf of the HQ organisation. Additionally, you will have a dotted line management responsibility for the Credit & Collections Managers based in the sales organisations across EMEA. You will manage our third-party Credit and Collections partner, Accenture, ensuring they meet service level agreements (SLAs) and adhere to Canon's policies and procedures. Your Key Responsibilities Policy Management:

Develop and enforce credit policies, ensuring compliance and minimizing bad debts. Target Setting:

Collaborate with senior financial leaders to set and monitor collection targets for €7 billion receivables. Strategic Leadership:

Design and implement end-to-end credit management and collections strategies. Partnership Management:

Optimize relationships with third-party partners, ensuring adherence to SLAs. Innovation:

Drive change and transformation initiatives, incorporating AI and machine learning to enhance creditworthiness predictions. Team Leadership:

Manage and coach a team of credit professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Degree level or equivalent, with financial or credit management qualifications (e.g., MICM, ACCA, CIMA) preferred, or qualified by experience. Other business qualifications such as an MBA or similar is a plus. Experience:

Significant credit management experience in a large international company, with a proven track record in managing complex change projects and emerging markets. Demonstrable experience in coaching others and people management. Skills:

Strong numeracy, project management, and strategic thinking skills. Ability to negotiate and resolve disputes effectively. Experience in major ERP systems (Oracle), Excel pivot tables, data analytics, and workflow tools. You will need Competencies:

Strategic mindset, customer orientation, innovation, and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
