Job Purpose and Summary

Canon are looking for a motivated and passionate Sustainability Reporting Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating and delivering EMEA wide sustainability reporting requirements, with a key focus on CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive).

Previous experience within sustainability is essential with strong knowledge of current sustainability best practice and initiatives. This role will expose you to a variety of stakeholders therefore communication and the ability to build relationships is key.

What we ask

The role has a reporting focus, and also you will have additional responsibilities within the Sustainability team. These include: Responsibility for co-ordinating the input to external environmental sustainability reporting, ensuring robust governance for compliance and quality assurance, with a key focus on CSRD. Acting as a central EMEA coordinator for CSRD, liaising with country data stakeholders. Collecting, consolidating and reviewing sustainability metrics to ensure complete and accurate data. Assisting the development of CSRD qualitative metrics through identifying relevant policies, gathering key information from other documentation and supporting with analysis which will then be used to put forward any recommendations. Support with the development and delivery of external corporate sustainability reporting requirements such as UN Global Compact and EcoVadis. Coordinate an up to date EMEA Sustainability knowledge library to support specific business units sales enablement and support sales and business growth. Provide operational support to Canon business units as needed, including reviewing marketing and communications in relation to sustainability. Periodically assist with updating EMEA wide employee sustainability training content to ensure all colleagues are kept updated with important sustainability developments and requirements. You will need

The successful candidate will have: Previous experience of environmental sustainability, completing reporting for environmental legislation and for major certifications (including UN Global Impact/EcoVadis). Highly developed reporting skills honed to focus on identifying relevant environmental information with the ability to spot trends and anomalies in data. Experience using environmental reporting IT Systems and Governance structures. Either a degree or equivalent qualifications in sustainability, environmental management or qualified by experience. Strong knowledge of current sustainability best practice, initiatives, and key market drivers (such as carbon net zero and circular economy). The ability to communicate with various stakeholders, building relationships across the business. Experience managing workload and deadlines, both independently and collaboratively. Proven experience of project management. Membership of a relevant professional institution (Desirable). Experience working in either consumer/ business services/ manufacturing / technology, ideally within a global organisation (Desirable). Canon is an equal opportunity employer.
