We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic pharmacist to develop and deliver the Antimicrobial Stewardship agenda at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. You will need to be motivated, organised, and willing to work as part of a team with a ‘can-do’ positive attitude. The antimicrobial stewardship team is energetic and innovative, striving to deliver the safest, highest quality care to patients. You will require a broad range of clinical experience and be able to demonstrate a strong aptitude for interpersonal and leadership skills to join our multidisciplinary teams. You will work with teams throughout the Integrated Care System to ensure that optimal communication and clinical governance processes are in place. There will also be a need to network on a national platform. Please note that this is a progressional post, aimed at developing and training a pharmacist at a Band 7 level to gain and acquire skills, knowledge and experience to meet the requirements and transition into that of a Band 8a Advanced Pharmacist. In the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, the Trust is located conveniently close to London and Oxford. We provide services to three main hospital sites: Wycombe, Amersham, and Stoke Mandeville and Community Services. Main duties of the job The post holder will work with different clinical areas of the pharmacy service to support the Trust Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme. This will involve: Provision of Clinical Pharmacy services to the divisions, wards and departments. Day-to-day supervision and support of Pharmacy staff working in those areas. Provision of specialist antimicrobial advice or referral of patients to the Multi-disciplinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Team. Support and deputising for the Lead Anti-Infectives Pharmacist. Completed or undertaking a post-graduate diploma in pharmacy practice or recognised equivalent. Member of RPS. EXPERIENCE Strong experience as a hospital pharmacist. Delivery of pharmacy services to a range of specialities. Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development. SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE Able to prioritise and manage own workload. Work, communicate, and provide effective leadership within a team. Clear and concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi-disciplinary team, at meetings, with patients and carers, and to ensure records are kept accurately and in a legible manner. To have a positive attitude, be able to recognise and communicate the need for change, and be able to participate in change management processes. Prepared to attend any training sessions necessary for personal and service development. Able to recognise limits of own competencies and to refer and seek advice from colleagues. Able to recognise and embrace new ideas and developments in clinical practice and implement under the supervision of superiors. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES Able to travel to other sites within the Trust and to venues for training. Full driving licence. PPE requirements:
