What is a 999 Call handler? Based within the Emergency Operations Centre at Lincoln, you will receive 999 and urgent calls from members of the public and Health Service colleagues. You will prioritise these calls in line with agreed protocols and provide pre-arrival advice. With shifts of up to 12 hours including night working, we operate 24/7, 365 days of the year, including public bank holidays such as Christmas and New Year. Successful candidates will have previous experience working in a pressurised environment and demonstrate an ability to work effectively and make fast-paced decisions while providing excellent care and advice. The ability to work on your own initiative within a team, have effective verbal communication skills, and be computer literate is essential. Successful applicants will be invited to an online assessment on the 03/05/25. Following a successful assessment, you will be invited to an interview on the 15/02/25. The start date for successful applicants will be the 24/03/25 or 28/04/25. Training will be 5 weeks full time, followed by approximately 8 mentoring shifts. Annual leave is also restricted during the training. Some elements of training may be virtual or off-site. Please bear this in mind when applying. About us

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures, and practices of the Trust, which may be amended from time to time. Patient Safety is a key priority for the Trust. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully compliant with EMAS policies and procedures in respect of patient safety, for example, Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Qualification

3 GCSE Grade C (level 4) or above including English or equivalent experience. Another Level 2 Qualification (Customer service). Experience

Experience of working with computers. Experience of working with the general public. Displays an ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Excellent interpersonal skills. Displays an ability to pay attention to detail. Work experience in a busy office or call centre environment. Experience of working within a team. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
