Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner Role The position of an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner is a vital role within the criminal justice system, specifically designed to assist offenders and their families. This role offers a salary of £24,000.00 - £26,000 and focuses on providing specialised support through various methods, including one-on-one interactions, group interventions, and structured programs. The aim is to ensure both prisoners and their families receive comprehensive and effective care. Key Responsibilities Deliver individualized support and conduct group interventions tailored to the needs of prisoners and their families. This involves creating and implementing structured programs that address specific challenges faced by offenders and their loved ones. Collaboration with Prison Staff and Partners - Work closely with prison staff, Forward staff, and external partners to develop a holistic care package. This collaboration is essential to provide seamless support services and ensure the well-being of all involved. Required Experience and Skills Applicants should have experience in providing direct support to family members or affected individuals within a criminal justice or addiction treatment setting. This experience is crucial for understanding the unique challenges faced by these families. Excellent experience of Substance Misuse, Addiction, and/or Mental Health Issues. Ideally, have experience of a 12-step programme (or similar) in recovering from addiction. Experience in delivering group interventions is necessary. This includes facilitating discussions and activities that promote healing and understanding among group members. A solid understanding of safeguarding practices for adults, children, and young people is essential. This ensures the safety and protection of all individuals involved in the support process. Additional Qualities A successful candidate must demonstrate empathy and compassion, understanding the sensitive nature of the issues faced by offenders and their families. Effective communication is crucial in delivering support and working collaboratively with different stakeholders. The ability to assess situations and provide practical solutions is important for addressing the complex needs of families affected by the criminal justice system.
