About the team The NMC's Employer Link Service was set up eight years ago as part of our aim to work more closely with employers of nurses and midwives across the UK. The service is at the forefront of our strategic priority to be a more visible and informed regulator. We are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective regulatory relationships with employers and engaging with other partners and stakeholders across the UK. The Team is made up of 12 Regulation Advisers, and a small team of Employer Link Officers. Following a review of the service and in order to increase the reach of the team we are recruiting to seven ELS Adviser roles to provide cover across six of the English regions: the Midlands the Northeast, the Northwest, London, the Southwest, the East of England and Northern Ireland. About the role The ELS Advisers will play a key role enabling the ELS to engage with a wider range of people in our work by developing and maintaining relationships with partners, employers, and professionals on our register. You will be an effective and trusted local link to the NMC providing advice and support related to our key roles including: Supporting the Regulation Adviser Promoting safe and effective practice using NMC guidance and embedding the nursing and midwifery standards, promoting positive and inclusive professional working environments supporting the integrity of our register and the revalidation processes enhancing the response to fitness to practice concerns supporting employers to embed just and fair cultures and support local resolution where appropriate. Working with internal and external stakeholders at provider and system level you will lead and contribute to the successful delivery of team projects and workstreams designed to increase our visibility and ensure we are better informed, and to provide proactive support to professionals on our register. You will have a particular focus on the provision of nursing in social care and other 'out of hospital' employers of nursing and midwifery professionals. The role will require frequent travel around the country/region of responsibility Acting as a credible ambassador you will represent the NMC in a professional and collaborative manner in support of NMC's purpose to promote and uphold the highest professional standards in nursing and midwifery and inspire confidence in the professions goal to protect the public. About you: A professional on the NMC register with significant experience in adult social care, other out of hospital setting or a professional with regulatory experience Living in one of the six areas we are currently recruiting to. Experience of delivering and supporting projects or programmes of work Experience of delivering presentations and facilitating diverse stakeholder groups Evidence of working autonomously and within teams to meet agreed objectives Committed to equality and diversity across all areas of work Please note the successful candidate must be based in the London region.
