Job Details Grade: 7A Hourly Rate: £17.10 - £18.76 Salary: £31,219.15 - £34,248.64 per annum Hours: 35 Contract Duration: Temporary until 31/03/2026 This advertisement has been extended until 10/02/2025 Role Purpose Our Employability Service is looking for an excellent communicator who is motivated to change people's lives for the better. The individual will be forward-thinking, open-minded, and resilient, assisting in removing barriers which will positively impact on the prevention and reduction of (re)offending in the area. This post has been created specifically to provide support to people who are part of the justice system, to find and sustain employment, which will assist in the prevention and reduction of reoffending. The postholder will have knowledge of the justice system and be able to demonstrate an awareness of the barriers faced by those who have been liberated and those who have convictions which may have incurred conditions. You will work closely with colleagues and partners, including the Criminal Justice Social Work department, to ensure a person-centered, joined-up approach. You will promote the principles of inclusion, normalization, and independence to drive forward employability in the Scottish Borders. Essential Educated to relevant HNC/ SVQ level 3 or significant experience in a relevant field. A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driver's licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
