About the Team The successful candidate will join our collaborative and supportive team of experienced Employment Law & Compliance Editors to translate employment law requirements to our HR audience. Although team members work on individual resources, they come together to share knowledge, ideas and expertise to produce high quality content for our customers. About the Role Do you like the idea of unravelling employment law for an HR audience? As an Employment Law & Compliance Editor, you will need to scan the horizon for changes in employment law, understand what new and existing employment laws mean, and put yourself in the shoes of an HR professional to explain what the law means for them. You will be responsible for producing accurate, readable, clear and practical content for our customers, working on varied and interesting resources. To carry out the role effectively you need to have or be willing to obtain a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our customers in their roles and businesses. The team works collaboratively with the wider content team and external authors. You will also collaborate with other internal teams such as marketing, product, technology and sales, and be involved in cross-functional projects, such as supporting the continual development of AI within the product, or helping to develop our pay equity products. The successful candidate will be open to change and innovation, including experimenting with Generative AI to improve workflows. Responsibilities Tracks employment law and HR developments to guarantee timely updates of existing content and development of new content. Writes, edits and updates material on existing and forthcoming legislation, cases and leading practices within required timelines and with attention to accuracy and readability. Ensures that the content on Brightmine is kept fully up to date in accordance with required style, prioritising updates in line with business requirements and customer need. Identifies content gaps and prioritises expansion (depth and breadth) of critical content assets to increase value in proposition in collaboration with management team. Maintains an editorial calendar in support of the content strategy. Ensures that assigned content is integrated cohesively on the site and works with other content for a seamless user experience. Periodically monitors competitors to ensure competitive advantage and makes recommendations for enhancements as appropriate. Responds appropriately to subscriber/potential subscriber queries and requests. Manages author relationships, including creation of contracts using established templates and processes, and the setting of clear expectations and deadlines. Works with internal stakeholders (other members of the content team, sales, customer success, marketing and prodtech) and external stakeholders (prospects, customers and media) to effectively convey the value proposition. Works in close partnership with business functions to develop and implement changes to support the product’s evolution. Requirements Experience of working in employment law or HR. Ability to understand and write about complex legal issues clearly and simply. Experience of working in legal or b2b publishing beneficial. A good understanding of the needs and priorities of HR professionals. Strong proofreading, editing and writing skills, and the ability to pay very close attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to conduct legal and industry research. Self-motivated with excellent management and organisational skills to track productivity and ensure that content plan milestones are met. Ability to collaborate with and support team members, leading small groups when necessary. Ability to work with content management systems to upload, edit and manage online content. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office.
