Employment Lawyer - Local Authority, Permanent Opportunity
We are seeking an Employment Lawyer to join a Local Authority’s Dispute Resolution and Employment Law Team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and flexible working arrangements with the opportunity to work from home or remotely for part of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising on a wide range of employment law matters, including discrimination claims, unfair dismissal, TUPE, redundancies, and settlement agreements
Representing clients in employment tribunals and handling all stages of claims
Drafting and advising on trade union provisions and capability issues
Providing legal support on restructures and disciplinary matters
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients, offering clear and succinct advice on complex legal issues
About You:
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with membership of the relevant professional body
At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience (lawyers with less experience may be considered)
Expertise in employment law and the ability to manage contentious and non-contentious matters
Commercially aware with a proven ability to deliver high-quality advice
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
