A fantastic opportunity for an Endoscopy Clinical Educator has become available at South Tees Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the Unit Manager and Senior Nursing Team to deliver continued education and training for staff of all experience and ability.

You will gain the opportunity to work in a high-paced, diverse service, offering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will build close working relationships with the Northern Endoscopy Training Academy and North Tees Trust to ensure staff are provided and supported in their development and competencies.

You will be required to work across 3 sites, including The James Cook Hospital, Redcar Primary Care Hospital and the newly built state-of-art Endoscopy Department at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.

Main duties of the job The Endoscopy Service across South Tees Trust has an exciting opportunity to appoint a dynamic and proactive leader to join us as our dedicated Endoscopy Clinical Educator.

We are looking for an individual with a keen interest in education and development, who has previous experience in the endoscopy setting. You will be responsible for working closely with the Northern Endoscopy Training Academy (NETA), as well as the Trust Clinical Educators and internal and external teams, to develop and deliver up-to-date training and support.

The candidate must have previous endoscopy experience, as well as exceptional communication skills and an added interest in self-development and progression. Your main role will be to support the development of the clinical teams, ensuring strong working relationships are formed and upheld with staff of all skill sets and experience.

We deliver an extensive and diverse service, including both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy including EBUS, Endoscopy Ultrasound guided fine-needle aspiration, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and Spyglass procedures. Procedures are offered under both conscious and deep sedation.

The leadership and improvement programme aims to: Explore leadership within the NHS Promote Trust values and behaviours Develop your leadership effectiveness and skills Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.

After you complete these six and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse/ODP Qualified Diploma or foundation Degree in Nursing Evidence of continued professional development. Willing to undergo training as necessary.

Mentor qualification Attendance at the leadership and development and improvement programme (4.5 days) Degree or Masters

Experience Essential

Vast Clinical Endoscopy Experience

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Ability to teach, supervise and assess registered and unregistered staff. Vast Clinical Endoscopy Experience Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines whilst paying attention to detail

Personal attributes Essential

Can evidence excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including sensitive persuasive communication e.g. in supporting staff members through remedial processes Able to use word processing applications & current digital systems. Good self-motivation and able to motivate staff. Team Leadership
