The unit houses the Bowel Cancer Screening Centre and we provide care for patients undergoing therapeutic GI endoscopy and bronchoscopy.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Endoscopy Senior Staff Nurse (Full time/permanent) who is interested in gaining further leadership and management skills in this innovative and busy specialty.

The successful post holder will already possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy and dedicated team.

You need to be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year of endoscopy clinical experience.

This position will require someone that is confident in their knowledge and delivery of excellence in every aspect of patient care.

To support and deputise the Endoscopy Nurse Manager to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources. Also to carry out the day-to-day management and coordination of the Endoscopy unit and to ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training

Registered Nurse

ENB998 or equivalent teaching qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to effectively prioritise, plan, and organise the daily workload of the Endoscopy Unit.

Knowledge

Demonstrates knowledge of the application of evidence-based practice.

Experience of teaching Endoscopy nursing skills.

Other

Motivates and demonstrates enthusiasm for the clinical specialty.

Adaptable and responsive to changing needs.
