Engineer - Housing
We are recruiting an experienced Engineer to join a forward-thinking house builder based in the Midlands. As part of the technical team, you will work with the Engineering division to successfully design, plan, and deliver developments, from initial appraisal to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Site Design Development: Progress site designs and provide comprehensive engineering support throughout the planning and building regulation process. Consultant Management: Oversee external consultants in road, sewer, levels, and cut-and-fill designs, ensuring compliance with planning requirements while maintaining competitive and practical solutions. Engineering Solutions: Coordinate with consultants and statutory bodies, including Highway Authorities, Water Companies, and Environment Agencies, to address and resolve engineering challenges. Optimising Planning and Design: Collaborate with project teams to secure the best planning consents and engineering solutions that add value to each development. Site Evaluation: Conduct evaluations and appraisals for potential development opportunities, ensuring the suitability and viability of new sites for purchase.
Key Skills and Experience: A strong background in engineering within the housebuilding or construction industry. Proven ability to manage external consultants and coordinate with statutory bodies. Experience in planning processes, including community engagement. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on cost-effective and practical solutions. A collaborative mindset to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
