About the Opportunity

The Engineering Delivery Lead will be responsible for the technical oversight of agreed solutions and delivery of the associated change through a technology capability and working practices. They will work in collaboration with the Product Manager/Owner as a dedicated resource aligned to Software Engineering and form a senior member of the Product Team. They will have a firm alignment back into Product Engineering ensuring a best-in-class capability is delivered for Software Engineering across all Technology deliverables.

In addition to the standard R&Rs of the Engineering Delivery Lead, they will also play a key role in standing up the Product Operating Model from a Technology perspective during the implementation phase. Working with the Product Manager, Product Owner, and various other business resources (BAs, SMEs) to understand the agreed backlog and prioritised change agenda.

The Engineering Delivery Lead will report directly into the Head of Engineering Delivery and have a dotted line into the Product Manager/Owner within the Product Team.

Transition to an agile delivery method and lean operating across Technology engagement and business alignment will be a key asset to the Engineering Delivery Lead. This will be driven through a defined roadmap established during implementation of the Product Team.

Core Responsibilities

Responsible for oversight and delivery of associated Engineering delivery & change initiatives across the Product Model from a Technology perspective Ensure the technology delivery has been engineered to the agreed solution design and quality standards Provide leadership for a team of engineers and associated technology skill sets aligned to Engineering delivery. Manage the technology teams and interdependences between the Engineering practices, Platforms Services, Component Services and Enterprise Architecture Ensure engineering principles are being adhered to and best practice is followed for engineering excellence Act as the Technical authority for troubleshooting and guidance to the engineers, who face technical challenges during delivery Work with the Product Manager/Owner to ensure delivery objectives and priorities are clearly understood across the Product Team for delivery within Sprint, Kanban or traditional delivery Proactively work with Business resources (where required) to understand the backlog, priorities and key dependencies Partner closely with Product Management to create, drive and deliver innovative, compelling and user-friendly products Use agile development principles to produce continuous value while readily adapting to change

Key Skills and Experience Proven experience in leading a Product Engineering capability team across a dispersed resource model 10+ years of software development experience with at least 3-5 years as a Technical Lead You have proven experience driving engineering best practices and will be able to discuss practices you believe help drive quality and productivity A role model for other engineers - responsible, thorough, proactive, and inclusive. Ability to build and manage partnerships with stakeholders and be effective in cross-group collaboration Experience building, automating, and managing enterprise software on top of Azure cloud and Microsoft endpoint technologies Excellent communication skills to articulate technical details across organizational boundaries Key exposure to DevOps working in a Continuous Integration & Continuous Development environment.

Technical Skills: Development languages and platforms being .NET (C#, ASP.net, MVC & VB.NET), Web APIs Low Code platforms - Pega, NewGen, Power Apps, Unqork, Guidewire Digital Platforms & CRM - Sitecore or Sitefinity Key exposure to consuming SaaS platforms or services and Architectural awareness Cloud Application Management via Azure DevOps, Pipelines Integration platforms - BizTalk, Node JS and Angular JS Exposure to alternate cloud solutions on AWS or Google Microservices exposure via Azure Kubernetes (AKS) and Dockerisation Solid experience around CICD platforms, being Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, AWS Code Deploy etc
