The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for all design and engineering aspects within Godiva. The role will be the Electrical expert for the business, fundamental to the electrical elements of our products whilst providing innovation for future products. Responsibilities: The management of a small engineering product design team on a day-by-day basis, ensuring the correct quality of work is being produced and in the timescales agreed. The management of the full product design cycle from concept to production handover. Responsible for driving electrical and electronic innovation and ideation for the Business. Be the electrical expert for the Business to support simple DC circuits through to CAN Bus networks. Able to support mechanical engineering design when needed. Take responsibility for the technical compliance of the electrical design to the customer’s specifications, including (but not limited to) Safety and Legislative compliance. Support the Technical Standards expert with electrical-focused technical customer support. Drive problem-solving within the department for a quick-paced solution-focused approach within the team. Ensure the team is aligned with the wider business goals including their own annual goals. Attend management meetings. Responsible for cultivating and driving team engagement. Complete personnel management tasks within the team, including 1:1s, goal setting, etc. Production of the necessary design documentation to substantiate the design and application to a project (performance calculations, test plans, material, and component selection justifications, etc.) to a high standard and pass the necessary technical reviews. Working with European colleagues to synergise Engineering Activities. Focus on Customer Obsession and improvements. Interact with Engineering services to design and optimise electrical production processes. Experience/Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience in engineering. At least 3 years of management experience is preferred. Must have significant experience in Electrical Design Engineering with knowledge/experience in Mechanical Engineering. Must have a hands-on approach. Engineering degree or apprenticeship equivalent. IDEX is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Affirmative Action Employer.
