What the role involves

• Our client is seeking an Engineering Director to lead a multidisciplinary technical team.
• Ensure the safe and successful operation of a nationally significant business.
• Manage interfaces with stakeholders.
• Drive cross-functional performance.
• Reporting to the CEO, the Engineering Director will be responsible for technical governance, asset management capability, and the development of HVDC cable systems and converter st.

Skills and requirements

• 15+ years’ experience in the energy or transmission sector, with strong knowledge of HVDC systems, converters, grid codes, and transmission interface requirements.
• Proven leadership of engineering or technical teams on major infrastructure projects or operational asset management.
• Commercial understanding of engineering contracts, OEM agreements, and technical dispute resolution.
• Knowledge of UK and European regulatory frameworks for interconnectors and transmission systems is desired.
