About The Role

Newly created geotechnical/engineering geologist position within a newly formed Warrington ground engineering team. Our ground engineering division works across a broad range of projects that includes infrastructure, energy, residential, civils and the quarrying industry. We are fortunate to have specialist engineering geologists and geotechnical engineers within the business who are passionate about their work and sharing knowledge across the business enabling our people to grow and develop their careers. We are looking for a geotechnical engineer/engineering geologist who has a broad range of experience within contaminated land, ground investigation, earthworks, reporting and geotechnical design. You will ideally have gained experience working for a GI contractor before moving to a consultancy. Have aspirations to become chartered within the next two years. Be driven to build upon your existing skills and want to play an integral role in helping to grow not just the Warrington team but wider ground engineering division. Responsibilities: Communicate with the Client and with other engineers to understand project requirements. Undertake research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of the ground conditions at a project site. Plan, specify and manage site investigations and laboratory testing programmes. Collate and analyse field and laboratory data and undertake analyses related to the project design. Undertake geotechnical design and prepare detailed geotechnical reports and supervise others. Attend sites and projects where required to assist with site inspections and surveys. Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed budget and timescales. About You

BSc in Geology, Environmental Science or a related subject. MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering. Demonstrable experience in geotechnical design and construction with a good working knowledge of ground conditions in the United Kingdom. The ability to anticipate and implement ground conditions and to develop accurate ground models from site investigation and desk study information. Experience of geotechnical analysis design of earthworks and structures. The Individual: Good verbal and written English. The ability to produce work of a high standard with minimum supervision. Good time management and organisational skills. Self-motivated team player. A ‘can do’ attitude towards tasks and the ability to ask questions to resolve uncertainties. About Us
